Taking a run
Taking a run
Hi guys, hope you’re all enjoying this great fall weather. I’m loving how sunny it still is over this thanksgiving holiday, perfect weather to eat a load of turkey, stuffing and pumpkin spiced cookies. I only have a little bit of time today to write on my sports and fitness blog, and I thought we’d look at running.
I used to absolutely hate all types of running. It took me many months to enjoy running outside, and it was only really when i could run at the right time of day, in the right weather, that i really got into it. My favourite time to work out is in the evening, I’ve tried running in the morning before, and it sucked. I woke up at 6am, grabbed a quick snack, got dressed and stretched. Headed out the door, and down the road for 3minutes before turning straight back around running back to bed for a nap until 7.30am. Do it really didn’t work out well for me, and I think that’s probably my best advice for someone wanting to get into running, find the right time of the day for you, if you’re like me and like to head for a run at 8.30 pm then find a way to fit it in for you. Another important factor will be whether you’re an indoor runner, or someone who is much better at running outdoors. But you will also have to remember that unless you’re happy to run indoors even when the ac is broken in the gym, or outdoors even when its 2 foot deep in snow you have to be flexible and be willing to mix it up. If you’re thinking of getting into running then I highly recommend trying out the couch to 5k, and just get up and do it!
