As I mention before about Link Building and rank high in Google, we can use link bait technique. But, it’s not just about link. In this SEO Challenge, how to get high quality backlink for your site is the main target.

Google has mention about this :

In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages.

And Google webmaster guideline is really clear about how to drive your blog on top. But, I think if we use that technique it’s a long journey before you can rank high. I think in this SEO Contest we can’t use that technique 100%. We have to find another way!!

In my opinion, the key to recieving traffic and ranking high in Google is to optimize our site for specific keyword phrases that are not too competitive but still recieve enough traffic. For an example I try to optimize one of my posting for keyword SEO as a Career. It’s a high number on result page (its about 12,800,000 page competing in this keyword) but it’s not to competitive. Here the result page on Google.

With the traffic we got from the uncompetitive keywords we hope can attract Google Attention to our pages. And hopes Google will think ours is an important page. This always work for me, how about you ?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is undoubtedly one of the ways to promote website or weblog on the internet. And link bait or the process of winning links is one of the efficient technique to succeed with your SEO process.

This happens when links are posted to you, traffic is brought to your site and your search engine ranking increases. And here are few list of linkbaiting success tips and link to the source :

tropicalseo.comThe single most important aspect of a link bait piece is its title. On social bookmarking sites such as Delicious and Digg, the title is pretty much all people see before they decide to vote or bookmark. In a 1000-word article with a 10-word title, the 10 words in the title are probably more important than the next 1000.

By looking beyond the obvious single link and search capabilities of an Internet directory, a website owner has a wealth of potential link partners, waiting to be added. They are easily found in the leading Internet directories and in the many specialized minor directory listings as well. Some of the very useful directories for link research include the Open Directory Project, better known as DMOZ; the Yahoo! Directory; the Google Directory; and the many specialty directories directly related to the searcher’s area of business.

mattcutts.comMatt Cutts said : Linkbaiting sounds like a bad thing, but especially if it’s interesting information or fun, it doesn’t have to have negative connotations. There are a lot of ways to do that, including putting in sweat-of-the-brow work to generate data or insights, or it can be as simple as being creative. You can also say something controversial to generate discussion (this last one gets tired if you overuse it, though). Sometimes even a little bit of work can generate a reason for people to link to you.

ericward.comThe bait itself can be anything from a controversial blog post that gets people talking and linking, to a Web site that adds something really funny, to a useful application that actually helps people. Go back all the way to the days that Yahoo was just a hobby for the boys at Stanford, and you could say their directory was early Link Bait. Everyone linked to Yahoo. Why? It was an awesome place to go find new Web sites.
