SEO as a career, is it possible ?

Is it great potential for jobs in search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) ?

Is a career in SEO right for you? (this is in my mind right know)
At first I (you) should ask this first, before choose SEO as a career. For me, learning new SEO can be a daunting task. Especially for someone with no background in HTML. For me, understanding HTML and the structure are really hard, at least at first time I knew HTML. But know, I know a piece of the secret.

Understanding HTML is important to do On Page optimization (IMO). How could they say, HTML or any other script is not important in SEO ? duhhh. After knowing about HTML, I move on and read as much as I can article about SEO on popular SEO blogs and forums. Then, I start practicing what I read on a few sites that I own.

The result is I achieve ranking on the search engine result pages for a low competition keyword. This achieve make me more confidence and competing in Busby SEO Challenge (BSC). Joining this SEO Contest help me in fine tuning my technique and also help me in learning more and more.
And now, I think about learn more about SEO and make SEO as a career. Is it possible ?
