Google have new features, they name it “Google SearchWiki”. How this will affect SEO, or might be your Busby SEO Test Ranking?

See this picture below : I also make comment for my page on that search result

Using this feature I can swap IMfreakz position to No: 1 and push it back to No:2 . How I do this in a minute ? Easy. If you want to see your Busby SEO Test Page in the top positions, you just need to log on to your google account. Search for your keyword target, after you see your url promote it (using the up button), make a comment on that SERP. Take a screenshoot and tell the world you are the champion . Easy huh ….. You don’t need to test your SEO page and Skill for being number 1 on Busby SEO Test in a minute.

Curious about this features, I read more on Google Official Blog Release News. Cedric Dupont, Product Manager, and Corin Anderson, Google Software Engineer said SearchWiki is a way for Google to customize search engine result page by re-ranking, deleting, adding, and commenting. With just a single click user can move the results to the top or add a new site.

Do we have to scared about these changes ? Do these changes will affect the SEO industry ?

Bernie Borges ( findandconvert.com ) said :

This will force some SEO services firms to change their business model to deliver tangible value to their clients. I don’t expect this to be a major problem for most SEO firms except perhaps those whose background is very technical with limited marketing expertise. Are you ready for the evolution of SEO in 2009? It’s already started. So, the time to get ready is yesterday.

Still curious about the SERP, then I ask my friend about the change I made on the result page of Busby SEO Contest. Did he see the change ? He said NO, nothing happen with the result. I’m sure that the ranking change only effects my computer and only if a log on my google account. Is this mean in the future Google search will display different/custom results for every computer ?

I try too convince my self, and found this In Google Experimental article, Google clearly said this is just experimental search. “Note that this is an experimental feature and may be available for only a few weeks.”

What do you think about Google SearchWiki ?

It is hard for us to understand other Busby SEO Test competitor post or discussion about SEO Contest or Busby Test, especially when they are use other native language rather than English. Usually we use Google translator, but it took times. But now I can read and translate all my competitor post easily, by using Google Reader.

It seems Google want to be global leader in the web market, not just for Search Engine. They announce automatic translation in Google Reader which will automatically translate a feed into your own language. By using Google Translate technology, this option doesn’t seem to provide perfect translation.

With this integration users can easily translate feeds from the drop down menu on the top right corner into their native language. But I found many bloggers disappointed because of it’s poorly translated versions.

Read about Google announcement here :

Next time you find an interesting feed in another language, just subscribe to it as normal in Reader. When you view the feed in Reader, check off “Translate into my language” in the feed settings, and (voila!) the feed will be immediately translated for you. Also, this setting will be saved so you can always view this feed in your own language.

But I have to realized this new Google feature is not perfect, Yet. It is hard to translate into other languages as there are so many dialects and slang terms that it can often be hard to get the exact meaning. And let’s hope Google will doing better and better for this new application.

Buy link or review could be bad for your site rank, is it true?
In the previous contest, the Busby SEO Challenge Contest there’s debate about paid link. Now, brycec from Busby Web Solutions has set a new rules for Busby SEO Test.

All the Busby SEO Test contestant are not allowed to buy a link, if they don’t have money . But, if you have a lot of money you can start to spent your money. And I hope debate about paid link in this contest are not going to happen again.

Okay, one problem solved. How about Google Paid Link Penalties ?

Google are still keeping an eye on blogs that sell links and review which pass pagerank. And Andy Beard said Google is in a Monopoly Position about this situations. Matt Cutts on his blog write he wants bloggers to disclose that they are doing a paid review of the site or use a nofollow tag to the links which are outside of the actual domain. It’s a few of simple ways :

1. If you buy a paid review, make sure your target blog for advertising not placing any P a y P e r Post, R e v i e w Me or S p o n s o r e d Ads banners. It might be, *might be not 100%* will put you on Google penalty list.
2. Buy a review or link from a related site.
3. And make sure this blog are not just write review posts, or just selling link without content on their site.
4. Contact the website owners personally, ask if they’re willing to sell you a link or some ad space on their site. Google will not detected these kinds of paid links (at least it almost impossible).

And this tips from SEOmoz according to void Google Penalties :
1. Don’t list their publishers or clients publicly
2. Don’t require any specific set of format or code for installation (or change it up very, very frequently)
3. Remain as “patternless” as possible in placement, choice of site, anchor text, etc.

I quote Search engine optimizer Aaron Wall doubts I found in blogoscoped.com, “There are risks if one is too aggressive, but as long as paid links is only a small portion of your overall marketing strategy it should not have much risk”.
