A healthy Mom = A Healthy Family!
Hi everyone, so in my last blog post I was talking about possibly taking up spinning at home. Well since then I have really embraced my fitness regime and wanted to use this post as a sort of motivational mechanism for all those moms out there who are struggling to get over their post pregnancy weight gain blues. So here goes……..
If I can do it so can you!! I am literally just your average mom, I have never been super unhealthy but I have never been terribly unhealthy either, I guess I just lacked the motivation to take my health and fitness seriously. Its not easy when you are a busy mother to find the time, patience and energy to slot an exercise regime into your hectic lifestyle BUT it can be done, trust me!!
I finally decided that I needed to start making more time for myself so I told my husband this and he completely understood. Don’t think you are being selfish, because ultimately, a healthier you means a healthier family. So my normal routine consists of looking after the kids during the day whilst also trying to manage my online business (I sell vintage goods). Anyway, I asked my husband if when he came back home from work in the evenings if he could take full control (we normally share the load) of the kids for an hour whilst I went and did a work out (sometimes I drop the work out and go and get my hair or nails done if I fancy a treat!).
The result? A fitter, happier and healthier me! Aside from the obvious health benefits it really has helped to boost my mood and makes me feel like a woman again, not just a mom! It gives me something to look forward to each day and gives me that little bit of space that we all crave from time to time. My whole family has noticed the difference and I really cannot recommend it enough! Please give it ago and let me know how you get on.
